When Atticus says, "You never really understand a person until you consider things from their point of view. Until you climb into their skin and walk around in it." He means that we don't understand each other because we all go through different things. Someone else might have a different opinion on something or might have things rough for them in their lives that makes them who they are. People act the way they do because of what they've been through. one time I was friends with two people. The two girls didn't like each other. Whenever they wanted to complain about each other, they came to me. I would try and find nice things to tell them about the other person, but it wasn't enough to make them like each other. What I didn't think about was why or how the girls treated each other and how they were treated at home. When I found out I stepped back and got over the fact that they were never going to be friends, but they were both my friends and I never tried to influence them into liking each other again.
3. Scout talks about the way Walter Cunningham eats without knowing how much food he gets at home. (Page 32)
4. I didn't find anything in these chapters confusing.
5. Appearance vs. reality shows up in chapter 3 when Scout is talking about Burris Ewell because everyone thinks he looks dirty and weird, but he is only that way because of the way his father raises him at home.
6. Foreshadowing is found in chapter 3 when Atticus says, "You never really understand a person until you consider things from their point of view. Until you climb into their skin and walk around in it." This is foreshadowing because maybe eventually the Finch's and everyone is Maycomb will feel this way about the Radley's.
